Free public forum welcomes Deputy Fire Marshal with CAL FIRE/Coastside Jordan Motta and other experts for a discussion about living in the Wildland Urban Interface, Defensible Space, and Home Hardening.
Admission and snacks are complimentary. Beer, wine and other beverages will be available for sale at the event. Ten percent of the proceeds from all dinner sales at Half Moon Bay Brewing Company for this event will be donated to the Cabrillo Education Foundation.

UC Master Gardeners Cynthia Nations, Alison Williams, and Stephanie Erskine will join the presenters at the Wildfire Safety Townhall Event on May 11th at 6:00 PM at the Half Moon Bay Brewery. As agents of the University, UC Master Gardeners provide people in their communities with current research-based information on everything related to home horticulture, sustainable landscape practices, pest management and more. Education and outreach is accomplished through classes and workshops, personalized trouble-shooting via The Helpline and plant clinics, print and digital media, school and community gardens.

Jordan has been with the department since 2009. In his tenure with the Department he has served many roles across the State including Firefighter Paramedic, Engineer Paramedic and Captain. Jordan has responded to the states largest and most devastating fires including the Central LNU Complex in 2017, the Creek Fire in Fresno County, and the Dixie Fire in 2021.
