Congressman Liccardo has been spending time throughout the district, and now he’ll be stopping in at Mavericks House for a town hall discussion! Guest and Moderator Bios:
Congressman Sam Liccardo
Bay Area native Sam Liccardo has dedicated his career to public service and forward-thinking leadership and currently serves as the U.S. Representative for California’s 16th congressional district since 2025. He previously served as the 65th mayor of San Jose from 2015 to 2023.
He graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory, earned a BA from Georgetown University, and received a JD and Master of Public Policy from Harvard University. Liccardo worked as a federal and local prosecutor before entering politics.
He served on the San Jose City Council (2006–2014) before being elected mayor. As mayor, he focused on public safety, pension reform, and economic growth. In 2023, he launched a successful bid for Congress.
Lenny Mendonca, Moderator
Co-founder of the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Former Chief Economic and Business Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom of California. He is a Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company and a Lecturer on Inequality at the Stanford Business School. He founded McKinsey’s U.S. state and local public sector consulting practice. He also oversaw their knowledge development, Chairing the McKinsey Global Institute and the Firm's communications, including the McKinsey Quarterly. He is also the Founding Chair of the Coastside News Group (Half Moon Bay Review and Pacifica Tribune).
