Going Green & Can Release

July will be a big month for us at Half Moon Bay Brewing Company! With a number of new brews and several events on the way, we’re also renewing our commitment to sustainability and the environment.

The ever-popular Word on the Street IPA is back, and we’ll be distributing 16 oz. cans of the latest batch on July 10th. Brewed with Weyermann Premium Pilsner malt with Ekuanot, Denali, Simcoe and Citra hops, this pale IPA is an exceptional treat. With a light, crackery malt structure supported by a bitter yet tangy, tropical fruit-juicy flavor from dry hopping with Citra, Eukanot and El Dorado hops, this New England style IPA is a delight from start to finish. Look out for cans of the Word on the Street IPA at our brewery and restaurant in Half Moon Bay, the Pacific Standard Taproom in Berkeley, and some of our Bay Area retail partners.

We’re looking forward to participating and pouring some cold ones at the Breast Fest in Marin on Saturday, July 14th. A fundraiser to support breast cancer treatments for low-income patients, Breast Fest features local breweries, food purveyors, and musicians for the cause.

Look for Half Moon Bay Brewing Company at Ales for ALS at Faction Brewing on Thursday, July 21st. This event comes with unlimited tastings from participating breweries (including us!), a commemorative pint glass, and lots of fun. Plus, the event raises money for a great cause: research to end ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Reserve your tickets here!

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is proud to be the first green-certified business on the San Mateo Coast, but we also recognize that we can do better. That’s why, starting in July, 2018, we’re introducing 100% paper straws for drinks and cocktails available upon request. Moving forward, we will have bamboo ware and natural fiber carry-out sauce containers available for to-go orders upon request in place of the recyclable plastic that we normally use. Also, look out for natural hay straws in our hot drinks! These natural alternatives to plastic products will help further reduce our impact on the environment.
